Pipa is a super charming village located about 2 hours from Natal, the capital of Rio Grande do Norte. The main attractions of the town are its beaches and simpler lifestyle, but Pipa also offers a good variety of dining options.

Pipa is a small beach village with a wide variety of restaurants and bars. In Pipa, you’ll find everything from local and traditional eateries to a range of establishments specializing in international cuisine, such as Spanish, Argentine, and Italian.

Most of the restaurants in Pipa are located in the town center and along the beaches, but you’ll also find some more remote spots nestled in nature.

1. Chez Marilia

Cozy nighttime view of a restaurant entrance with warm lighting, rustic wooden tables, and tropical plants lining the walkway. A sign reading “Chez Marília” hangs above, adding a personal touch to the relaxed, artsy atmosphere.

An intimate and private restaurant in Pipa, perfect for those who want to enjoy a quality dinner paired with a good wine. The restaurant is run by Chef Marilia, who always creates dishes made with fresh, local ingredients.

The menu is small, and the options may vary slightly depending on the day. But it usually features seafood and red meat dishes, along with appetizers and desserts. The restaurant also offers a good selection of wines, making it one of the best dining options in Pipa.

Chez Marilia is located in Vila da Pipa Shopping and is a very small restaurant. Therefore, it’s important to make a reservation and not confuse the spaces, as there is another restaurant next door, which can cause some confusion about which area belongs to which establishment.

2. Aprecíe Restaurante

Elegant white plate with a fillet of grilled fish topped with fresh greens, resting on a bed of vegetables in a light herb sauce, paired with white wine and sparkling water under ambient evening lighting.
Close-up of a gourmet dish featuring grilled fish, sautéed greens, and golden root vegetables on a black plate, served with glasses of chilled white wine in a warmly lit, intimate restaurant setting.

One of the best restaurants we tried in Pipa for a great dinner. Aprecíe’s menu features sophisticated, well-presented, generously portioned dishes made with regional ingredients.

The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including pasta, seafood, and red meat. It also has excellent appetizers and desserts. We tried the “peixe delícia” dish, and it was very good. The restaurant also has an extensive wine list with good prices.

The atmosphere at Aprecíe is simple and cozy, with good ventilation and background music. The service is quick and efficient, with attentive and friendly waiters.

3. Tapas

Plated slices of seared tuna with a sesame crust are drizzled with a dark soy-based glaze and garnished with fresh green onion strips. Below, a creamy white dip topped with herbs and sesame seeds sits on a separate dish, suggesting a refined tapas experience.

A Spanish eatery that serves delectable, expertly prepared food and has great service. Tapas was one of the best restaurants we visited in Pipa. The place is the perfect combination of a simple yet pleasant atmosphere, outstanding service, quality food, and a varied menu. Plus, the service is quick, and the orders come out fast.

The star of the house is the fresh tuna. So, I recommend trying the sesame-crusted seared tuna—it’s perfect. The menu, which changes daily, features seafood, red meat, and a variety of appetizers and sides. The restaurant also offers a wine list, cocktails, and beers.

4. BarGunça de Vicente

Smiling woman in a light blue halter dress enjoys a glass of red wine at an outdoor bar, surrounded by trees and warm evening lights in a relaxed, social atmosphere.
Lively outdoor bar scene at night with live music, as a trio performs in front of a well-stocked bar under a canopy. Diners sit at nearby tables enjoying drinks and the casual, festive vibe of BarGunça de Vicente.

BarGunça is a super lively bar, known for its wide variety of drinks. It’s located a bit away from Pipa’s main hustle and bustle, in the charming Kanto da Pipa Gallery, a complex with shops, bars, and restaurants.

This bar is a great choice for those looking to drink and snack. The appetizers are simple but delicious, and all are cooked in an air fryer. We loved the sun-dried beef croquettes and the grilled skewers.

The main attraction at the bar is the drinks. The menu features over 60 drink options, ranging from classic cocktails to original creations. In addition to cocktails, the bar also serves wine, beer, and shots. To liven up the evenings, there’s always live music.

Vicente’s BarGunça is located at the end of the gallery, but at the entrance you’ll see a space called BarGuncita de Vicente, which also belongs to the establishment. I recommend staying in the main area at the end of the gallery, as that’s where the live music takes place.

5. O Tal Do Escondidinho

Rustic wooden table set with a Brazilian meal featuring a baked casserole, white rice, fresh salad, and a small glass of chilled beverage, inside a relaxed open-air restaurant with wooden chairs and soft natural light.

One of the best dining options in Pipa for those looking for a local restaurant that serves traditional dishes from Northeastern Brazilian cuisine (northeast of Brazil).

As the name suggests, the house specialty is escondidinho (a layered dish. The base and the top are made of mashed cassava or potato, and in the middle goes the filling of your choice). The shrimp escondidinho is delicious, even though it comes with a limited amount of shrimp. The restaurant also offers versions of the dish with beef, chicken, and mushrooms.

In addition to escondidinho, the menu includes dishes such as chambaril (beef shank), goat, oxtail, moqueca (it’s a fish or seafood dish that’s slow-cooked with veggies, herbs, and spices — no water added at all), soups, and appetizers.

The dishes are well-portioned and visually appealing, and the food is tasty. To drink, the place offers juices, beers, wines, and cocktails. This is a great restaurant in Pipa to enjoy authentic Northeastern cuisine, whether for lunch or dinner.

The atmosphere is cozy, and the decor is beautiful and cheerful, with many ornaments that pay tribute to Northeastern culture. The service is attentive and proactive, and orders come out quickly.

6. Restaurante Pipa Camarões e Cia

Traditional carne de sol tapioca in Pipa served on a dark green square plate, filled with shredded sun-dried beef and garnished with a cherry tomato and parsley. This rustic Brazilian dish is a local favorite, known for its savory filling and soft tapioca shell.

A simple restaurant in Pipa that offers generous and tasty dishes at an excellent price. Pipa Camarões is located on the main street and is a great option for lunch in Pipa, though it’s also open for dinner.

The highlight of the restaurant is the seafood, and the menu offers a variety of dishes, with individual and shareable options, as well as portions and tapiocas (a dish made from cassava starch that, when heated in a pan, turns into a kind of crêpe. It can be served with either sweet or savory fillings). The shrimp tapioca is perfect. The portions and dishes are generous, and the food is good.

7. Orishas Resto Bar

Beachfront meal in Pipa featuring fresh crab topped with vinaigrette, bowls of rice and stew, and two coconuts with straws—an inviting option for travelers searching where to eat in Pipa with ocean views and local flavor.
Smiling woman sitting at a beachside table with a cold beer at sunset, with rocky tide pools and ocean waves in the background—an ideal scene for travelers wondering where to eat in Pipa with a view.

A beach bar and restaurant in Pipa perfect for watching the sunset at Praia do Centro. Orishas is located on the right side of the beach, and its menu features seafood, appetizers, and a variety of dishes. The place also serves drinks, including cocktails, beers, juices, and coconut water.

On the day we visited, some items were missing from both the food and drink menus, but since the menu is extensive, we were still able to order other things.

This is a beach bar, so don’t expect exceptionally elaborate food. The dishes are simple but very tasty. The beer is cold, the cocktails are good, and the staff is friendly and welcoming, although the service can be a bit slow at times. There’s live music every afternoon.

8. Umi Fun Kitchen

Oceanview lunch spot in Pipa with colorful Brazilian bowls and cold drinks on a terrace overlooking rooftops, palm trees, and the beach—an ideal pick when deciding where to eat in Pipa with a view of the sea.

Umi Fun Kitchen is a restaurant in Pipa with a wonderful ocean view, offering well-crafted and tasty dishes, along with a variety of drinks.

We recommend the restaurant more for lunch or for enjoying a drink at sunset. We didn’t enjoy the nighttime atmosphere as much, as it usually features a DJ, giving it more of a bar/club vibe. However, it’s not lively enough to feel like a proper party, nor is it cozy enough for a relaxed dinner or conversation like a typical bar or restaurant. On DJ nights, there is frequently a cover charge.

The service at the restaurant is good, and on the days we visited, the dishes came out quickly. We recommend trying the pokes, which are excellent and made with fresh ingredients.

9. Coelho Vegano

Close-up of a colorful vegan feijoada bowl with rice, farofa, sautéed greens, banana, citrus, and roasted vegetables, served with a glass of chilled rosé—perfect for those looking for where to eat in Pipa with healthy, plant-based options.
Woman enjoying a glass of chilled rosé wine in a serene, tropical garden setting near a pool—an ideal hidden gem for travelers searching where to eat in Pipa with peaceful vibes and nature all around.

Coelho Vegano is an amazing vegan restaurant that opens only for lunch. It’s located in a beautiful house and offers an open-air setting, surrounded by nature, with a relaxed and laid-back vibe. The service is quick and efficient, and the staff is super friendly. This restaurant is located a bit away from Pipa’s town center.

The menu changes daily. When we visited, the dish of the day was a vegan feijoada (feijoada is a super traditional dish made by slow-cooking black beans with all kinds of meat — but in the vegan version, the meat gets swapped out for veggies), which was absolutely delicious.

This is a restaurant in Pipa we recommend even for non-vegans, as the food is truly tasty and light. The dishes are also well-portioned. To drink, they offer wines, cocktails, beers, and juices.

10. Pipa Beach Club

Street view of Pipa Beach Club, a stylish open-air restaurant and bar with white decor and tropical vibes—one of the top spots for anyone wondering where to eat in Pipa for a laid-back beachside experience.

A pleasant spot with an ocean view at Praia do Centro. Pipa Beach Club is a popular restaurant in Pipa, featuring a wide menu and live music. It’s a great place to enjoy some drinks, have appetizers, and watch the sunset. On certain days of the week, the restaurant offers drink specials during happy hour. When there’s live music, a cover charge is applied.

The service is good, but on busy days, it can be a bit slow, and orders might take a little longer. The prices are reasonable for its location.

11. Mirante Sunset Bar

Dramatic sunset view over the ocean and rooftops of Pipa, Brazil, seen through silhouettes of trees from a high lookout—capturing the magic of Mirante Sunset Bar, a must-visit for those searching where to eat in Pipa with a breathtaking view.

With one of the most beautiful sunsets in Pipa, Mirante Sunset Bar is the best choice to end the afternoon and start the evening. The bar, nestled in nature, offers a magnificent view of the village and the beach, along with a relaxed atmosphere.

It’s also a great place to eat in Pipa, with a menu of snacks and appetizers that are well-prepared and tasty, as well as a variety of drinks and beverages. The service at Mirante Sunset Bar is very good and fast.

Since it’s a lookout point, be prepared to climb some stairs. Fridays and Saturdays are the liveliest days, when it usually gets busier and features live music and a DJ. Mirante Sunset Bar is open every day from 4 PM to 8 PM, and event details and prices can be found on their website.

12. PRECIOSA gelateria

Two hands holding waffle cones stacked with creamy gelato in front of Preciosa Gelateria’s window, with a cobblestone street glowing in the background.

Preciosa is the most well-known artisanal gelato shop in Pipa. Its reputation comes from the quality of its gelatos, which are excellent and available in a variety of flavors.

We tried several flavors, and all of them were delicious. Our favorite is the Semi-Bitter Belgian, the shop’s most famous flavor, but the dulce de leche is also amazing. A single scoop costs R$ 18 (USD 3), and a double scoop costs R$ 26 (USD 4.47).

13. Real de 14

Woman enjoying a vibrant yellow scoop of tropical gelato in a waffle cone while seated indoors at Real 14 Gelateria.

Real de 14 is another well-known ice cream shop in Pipa. It offers a variety of flavors, including many vegan options. The gelatos are also very tasty (but if you only have time to visit one gelateria, we recommend Preciosa). A single scoop costs R$ 16 (USD 2.75), and a double scoop costs R$ 24 (USD 4.12).

Where to eat on a budget in Pipa?

In general, dining in Pipa can be a bit expensive, especially at the restaurants in the town center. But, like anywhere, there are options for more affordable meals.

The cheapest places to eat in Pipa are the self-service restaurants without a scale. These are quite common—at them, you can help yourself to the sides and choose two protein options, which are served by a staff member.

The price of self-service restaurants without a scale ranges from R$ 15 (USD 2.58) to R$ 35 (USD 6.03). Typically, those in the town center cost around R$ 30 (USD 5.17) on average. But if you head toward Praia do Amor along Av. Baía dos Golfinhos, you’ll find cheaper restaurants, ranging from R$ 15 (USD 2.58) to R$ 20 (USD 3.44). In addition to dining in, some also offer takeaway meals (quentinha) for the same price.

Another way to save money while eating well in Pipa is by using Duo Gourmet or Prime Gourmet—subscription services that offer discounts at restaurants. Umi is a great restaurant option in Pipa where you can take advantage of these benefits.
