Colombia is one of the largest coffee producers in the world. You’ll find many amazing cafes throughout the country, not to mention the farms, where you can see the production process and enjoy a truly delicious cup of coffee.

Best cafes in Medellín to visit

During our stay in Medellín while on an exchange program, we visited several cafes and selected the best ones. Of course, we didn’t get to visit every cafe in Medellín, but we chose the best among those we tried.

In addition to finding many delicious items on the menus of the cafes we’ll recommend, you’ll also come across the traditional small cup of coffee, which they call tinto. And in this case, it’s not wine—it’s a simple, very small cup of coffee.

Check out our tips on where to eat in Medellín with our 11 favorite restaurants.

1. Café Revolución

Trendy Medellín café with warm lighting, wooden seating, and a bold red neon sign that reads “QUE CHIMBA PARCE,” where customers enjoy live music in a cozy, vibrant atmosphere.

This was the first cafe we visited in Medellín. It’s located in Laureles, and we discovered it while we were staying in that neighborhood. It’s a small but amazing cafe, and needless to say, the coffee there is perfect.

The menu at Café Revolución features a wide range of delectable dishes, including cakes, toasts, omelets, pancakes, smoothies, and juices. On the day we visited, we ordered a full brunch, and it was perfect.

So, if you’re planning to visit Laureles or even stay in the neighborhood, be sure to check out this cafe. It’s also a great spot to relax, chat, and get some work done.

Café La Manchúria, located in El Poblado, definitely had to be on our list of the best cafes in Medellín. It is located in Pátio Masaya, which is close to where we had Spanish lessons.

Although there is a restaurant and bar at Pátio Masaya, La Manchúria has a number of delectable options to pair with a good cup of coffee.

The coffees served there are harvested, processed, and roasted at the La Manchúria farm, which you can actually visit.
